Do you ever wish you could turn back the hands of time to have the bright white teeth you had as a child? You probably did not realize at the time how much of an impact normal aging would have on the appearance of your teeth. If you developed lifestyle habits such as smoking or drinking a lot of coffee, your teeth staining may be more advanced than others your age.
The good news is that professional teeth whitening can give you the shiny, attractive smile you desire. This is just one of several cosmetic dentistry procedures we offer at Radiant Dental Health in Fort Collins, Colorado.
What is Professional Teeth Whitening?
Maybe you have tried to remove stains from your teeth in the past by purchasing a tooth whitening kit for at-home use from the drugstore. After dealing with messy gels and wearing uncomfortable trays for several hours a day, you could barely notice a difference in the brightness of your teeth. That is certainly disappointing.
Professional teeth whitening takes things to a whole new level. Dr. Caldon uses only high-quality bleaching gel to transform your dull, stained teeth into a bright smile you will be proud to display. The process is faster, more comfortable, and provides noticeable results for a longer period of time than drugstore tooth whitening kits.
What to Expect at Your Teeth Whitening Appointment with Dr. Caldon
You can say goodbye to messy gels and uncomfortable mouth trays when you have professional tooth cleaning done at Radiant Dental Health. Our experienced dentist uses laser teeth whitening, a fast and painless way to increase the brightness of your teeth by up to 10 shades.
A dental assistant prepares you for the appointment by placing rubber dental dams on your upper and lower gums to prevent saliva from touching your teeth during the procedure. You will also wear eye protection to guard against any damage to your eyes from the bright light of the laser.
Once you feel comfortable in the dental chair, Dr. Caldon applies professional-strength bleaching gel to your top and bottom rows of teeth. The bleaching gel contains hydrogen peroxide to help remove even the most stubborn tooth stains. You then sit in the dental chair for a short time waiting for the bleaching gel to penetrate your tooth enamel.
For the last part of the tooth whitening procedure, Dr. Caldon shines a laser directly at your teeth to accelerate the remainder of the procedure. The only thing left to do then is show off your beautiful smile to everyone.
